On Page Optimization | Content
Content plays a huge role in on page optimization and how well your site will be doing in the search engine rankings. Just slapping down a few words or writing a novel on how great your business is, is not going to get you any ranking, visitors or customers.
Remember when people type a search term into the search engine they are looking for information relating directly to the words they typed in. For example, you make garlic chocolate and you are really good at it. You have a website about your business and the chocolate you make.
When someone types the term “garlic chocolate” in the search engine they will expect results related to garlic chocolate. They might want to find out more on the subject, or they might want to purchase the product.
So give them the information they are looking for and they will stay on your site longer, and if you are selling from your site or you would like them to fill in a form or phone you your chances are much better.
Getting to the content on the page itself.
If the page title is garlic chocolate then the content must be about garlic chocolate.
The words garlic chocolate should appear in the text at least three times in different paragraphs. It could be in paragraph one then two and then in five, if the article is five paragraphs long. The content should not be less than 300 words and not more than 600 words in length.
It should be written is an easily understandable way.
The first paragraph should start with the keyword of the page; in this case the first sentence should start with “Garlic chocolate is the new wonder of the world.”
